FAQ

What is the difference between a Montessori school and a regular school?

The Montessori approach differs from conventional education in several key ways. First, our classrooms are intentionally designed with mixed-age groups (all children under 36 months learn together). This dynamic mimics a family structure, where younger children learn by observing older peers, and older children reinforce their knowledge by teaching concepts they have mastered.

Second, we emphasize individualized learning over a standardized pace. While we follow a comprehensive curriculum, each child is free to explore it based on their own interests and developmental readiness. For example, while all children will eventually learn to count to high numbers, they do not all learn it at the same time. We believe children learn most successfully when driven by intrinsic curiosity and love for the work, not by external pressure or deadlines.

Are there opportunities for my child to be creative in a Montessori classroom?

Absolutely. Creativity in a Montessori classroom is expressed through creative problem-solving and exploration. After a teacher presents a material, children are encouraged to use it in repetitive and self-directed ways to master its concepts. Our program offers myriad opportunities for artistic expression, including collage, watercolor, and designing with geometric shapes. This guided freedom ensures that creativity flourishes within a framework of learning, making discovery both fun and meaningful.

Is Montessori right for my child?

Montessori education is uniquely adapted to the child, making it an excellent fit for a wide variety of personalities and learning styles. Our materials are designed to engage all the senses, making learning accessible and compelling for every type of learner. Our educators act as careful observers, tailoring their guidance to each child's temperament.

We partner with families to support each child's success. An environment rich in hands-on exploration is most effective when children come ready to engage with it. We therefore encourage a home environment low in passive screen consumption, paving the way for a seamless and fulfilling Montessori experience.
